THEME: “HAPPY, FLUFFY BUNNIES!”
As we find ourselves at the start of a new year, this is always a good time to check in with ourselves, find stillness, and open our hearts to welcome fresh possibility and change ahead of us. This month we focus on the heart, the place of love and compassion, forgiveness and joy. When this energy center is not in alignment, we can feel anger, frustration, and jealousy, so this month we will work to find balance and end the year in the best way possible.
Enjoy bringing this theme into your daily life and classroom this month, and as always, take what you need and leave what doesn’t serve you!
“COSY, FLUFFY BUNNIES” MEDITATION
Time: 8 minutes
When to practice: TO FEEL COSY AND RELAXED
Lie down and let your whole body relax...Close down your eyes, or place something over them. You feel all cosy just like a fluffy bunny settling down for the night! Slow down your breath as you lay here all floppy and relaxed... Imagine a lovely fluffy bunny comes hopping over to you! It makes it way to you slowly and quietly... It wants to say hello! Grab a blanket and get cosy. You can do this anytime yourself, with your students, or with your family members too. Simply click on the audio link and settle in.
YOGA POSES AND MOVEMENT
These poses and movements serve to support physical development such as hand-eye co-ordination and also help to open up your hearts in your classroom. They provide a chance for you to stretch together and have a giggle too!

Breathing exercise: “BUNNY BREATH”
Sit up tall and scrunch up your nose show everyone your bunny teeth! You can get ready by twitching your nose like a bunny too! With your hands on your knees, take in three short sips of breath into your bunny nose… 1…2….3! And slowly breathe out of your mouth. Take this breath a few times to bring some happiness into your classroom!
