THEME: “WELCOMING CHANGE”

We are still going through some particularly challenging times and doing our best to adapt. Coming to terms with the new norm is easier said than done, particularly when it changes and disrupts our lives on a regular basis.

It is easy for us to think about the negative things that have resulted from this recent time, but we can also think about the positive things too. The seasons are shifting, which provides a great opportunity for us to be grateful for all that we have come through and achieved, not just in recent months but years too. There are certain things we cannot control, but one thing we can control is our mindset. So let’s move through the future days, weeks and months with an open heart and a positive mind.

Let’s remember we are all in this together and we are here to help support each other, and ourselves, through this shifting time.

GUIDED MEDITATION

Watch the short explainer video by Jen, that describes how to settle in with a meditation.

MEDITATION: WELCOMING CHANGE

This month is centred upon shifting with these changing times and seasons. This is a time for us to check in with ourselves, appreciate how far we have come, and set intentions for the coming days and weeks ahead of us.

Time: 10 minutes

When to practice: when you need a moment TO REFOCUS AND SET INTENTIONS

As the seasons change and energy in the air is shifting, this provides an opportunity to welcome in new thought, and new possibility. The last few months have presented their challenges, but we can now look forward to upcoming days and weeks ahead of us.

There is nowhere else you have to be, nothing else to do. Just be here with your body in stillness, and start to slow down your breath.

Grab a blanket and get cosy. You can do this anytime yourself, or with your family members too. Simply click on the video and settle in.

We are here for you, for them.

yoga poses and movement: HEART OPENING FLOW

This months Yoga Flow practice serves to open the heart space, and welcome in change with a sense of calm and acceptance. Take each pose slowly and with care, remembering to use the breath to softly move into, and between, the poses. It might also aid your practice to put on some relaxing music from this months pack.

FOLLOW ALONG WITH JEN IN THE VIDEO BELOW (10-MINUTES)

Breathing exercise: HEAD TO HEART CENTRED BREATHING

This breathing technique serves to focus on drawing the breath into the heart space, followed by the head, filling the body with revitalising breath to help refocus, calm the mind, and draw in a sense of fullness in the heart. Take a slow, deep breath into the nose filling the heart, and softly breathe out of the mouth. Repeat this two more times.

Then shift focus to breathing in through the crown of the head and breathing out through the heart, allowing us to refocus our awareness and settle the mind.

Repeat this as many times as needed.

ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES

Vision+Board.jpg

CREATE A VISION BOARD

This can be on a big piece of paper, and you can fill it with inspiring magazine cut outs of pictures or inspiring quotes, write words down, and glue or tape on photos or items you have gathered from nature. This should be filled with inspiration, and driven by your interest in doing some home improvements, practicing more self-care, living a more fit and healthy lifestyle, etc.

Make this your own! Completing as a group or family can be a lovely exercise too!

Pause Button.png

mini autumn journal

Buy yourself a nice little book which you can decorate with some leaves, flowers, etc. that you find out in nature. Within this book, write daily, or even weekly, journals of what you enjoy about the season, remember to check in with your vision and goals, and focus on things you want to do more of during this time to help support you through.

big pause button

Imagine pressing your big pause button and check in with how you are feeling in that moment. You can imagine this in your mind, or even print out a big, red button and stick it in a place where you may tend to need a moment to pause.

RELAXING BACKGROUND MUSIC

Our recommendations this month for positive affirmation and when you need a boost!
