As we settle into Summer and find our flow within the new season, let’s check back in with finding our inner strength. Day to day, we can help ourselves by finding moments to breathe, move and meditate, which can aid our ability to re-focus and find strength. 


“INNER STRENGTH MEDITATION”

Time: 13 minutes

When to practice: WHEN YOU’RE FEELING OVERWHELMED BY NEGATIVE THOUGHTS

Let go of your day so far, and arrive in this space. Allow thoughts to come and go, then bring awareness back to the breath. Be kind to yourself, to the thoughts that do appear.... Find a sense of grounding and peace in this moment. Wherever your mind goes, notice the thoughts, and bring your awareness back with kindness.

RESTORATIVE YOGA POSES

Find focus and inner strength with these relaxing poses for this month. Move slowly, and allow yourself to sink into the movements. The two poses can be practiced side by side.

Breathing exercise: “Ujjayi Breath

Ujjayi Breath is also known as warrior, or victorious, breath. This breathing technique can sound like the ocean (or Darth Vader depending on how you hear it!) and involves a slight constriction of the throat. It can help develop focus and mental clarity while also building warmth and inner strength.
