THEME: “LIGHTER DAYS AHEAD”
Last year presented its challenges, and so far this year has too! But you have made it through till now, and there are brighter days on the horizon. Be thankful and grateful to yourself for reaching this point, and although we aren’t through it all just yet, we are moving towards better days. Let this month’s program bring some light into your day, and as always, embrace what works for you and leave what doesn’t serve you.
MEDITATION: “LOTUS THROUGH WATER”
Time: 11 minutes
When to practice: WHEN WE NEED HOPE, INSPIRATION AND TO HELP WITH FEELING GROUNDED
We have been through a lot, but remember there are lighter days ahead. Just like the lotus flower, we can move through even the toughest of challenges and mirky water, emerging stronger and more beautiful on the other side.
Feel your roots grounding you into the ground. Feel your gentle heartbeat and begin to slow down the breath. Feel connected to yourself, and to nature. It is within us to rise through challenge, just as we find in nature.
Grab a blanket and get cosy. You can do this anytime yourself, with your students, or with your family members too. Simply click on the video and settle in.

RESTORATIVE YOGA POSES
Gentle movements for healing and the release of tension that can be done any time of day on the floor, in bed, or in your chair.

Breathing exercise: SUNSHINE BREATH
Begin seated in Easy Pose, cross-legged on the floor or sat on a chair with your feet hip width apart. Inhale into your nose as you reach your arms over your head, palms touch together at the top as you look up to the thumbs, then gently exhale out of your nose as you lower your hands to your heart. Breathe slowly and softly with the movement, and repeat this at least 3-5 times.

MAKE AN ABUNDANCE SMOOTHIE
Fill yourself with goodness from the inside too! We can help ourselves greatly when we eat well, by nurturing our bodies and feeding our minds.
Base ingredients: Spinach, Yogurt or Plant Based Milk, Banana
Additional ingredients of your choosing: Strawberries, Blueberries, Raspberries, Chia Seeds, Avocado, Celery, Protein Powder, Matcha Powder, Spirulina, Kale, Tumeric, Beets, Cucumber, Carrots, Ginger

During the day, in those times of need, take a moment to sit in stillness.

Sometimes all it takes is one minute to feel lighter and brighter.
MAKE A LOTUS MUDRA
You can practice this mudra during your meditation or for when you’re taking a moment to pause and breathe for one minute.
Bring your palms together and keep the thumb and little finger pressing together as you round the palms and fingers out into a circular shape.
